The woman was emerging from the Black Oak Ridge Road connection when she turned her 2018 Mazda 3 left into northbound Route 23 traffic around 9:45 a.m., Detective Capt. Laurence Martin said.

Seeing her coming at him, a driver swerved his vehicle into the next lane, causing a collision with another car, Martin said.

Before it was over, four vehicles -- including the Wanaque woman's Mazda -- had been damaged.

The Wanaque woman received a summons for careless driving, the captain said.

She and another driver were hospitalized after complaining of chest pains, he said, adding that all four vehicles had to be towed.
